NSFW What if we created a religion out of Spirituality?

When people ask me if I’m religious, I don’t really know how to answer that. I mean, being spiritual isn’t necessarily considered religious in society. But, I kinda DO consider myself religious. When you think about it, we kind of do everything that other “religious” people do… like “praying” (talking to the universe) and meditation and we believe in a higher power, so to speak. We practice doing good things and want to help other people. They’re very similar. I believe in a God, i believe that we should be doing good things, I don’t believe “hell” exists but that shouldn’t matter, i believe in reincarnation.

So hear me out. What if we made Spirituality a religion? It basically already is, but it’s not legally recognized as a solid “religion.” It’s kind of just like “I’m spiritual” not “I’m religious.” As of right now in the US, ayahuasca is illegal, EXCEPT for people doing “religious practices.” So that got me thinking: I want to be able to use ayahuasca, DMT, LSD, Shrooms, and Marijuana and any other plant medicine (mescaline?) any time i would like to be able to use it, without getting in trouble. I would like these plants and medicines to be legal for anybody who would like to use them as a tool for their spirituality or just as they please. So what if we created a religion? And we could say that we use these psychedelics in order to connect with our higher selves, and to connect with the universe and everything. Illegal drugs are protected by the 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act. I consider myself religious, but for me it’s illegal to use LSD and shrooms (which are the two main psychedelics i prefer to use when exploring my own consciousness).

I BELIEVE that it should be my RIGHT to use psychedelics as a tool to enhance my life and my consciousness and connectedness to the universe, and I think that if I made Spirituality into a religion, it could help protect a lot of people all over the US. I think that it’s unjust that people are in jail for shrooms and marijuana, but it’s now decriminalized in Oregon.

It should be LEGAL for whoever wants to explore the use of psychedelics to explore as they please. And I think making Spirituality into a legal, on the books Religion will help us make great strides towards the future I want to see.

So?? What do y’all think? Also how would I go about starting this as a religion?
